Work is carried out through the Departmental Risk Reduction and Management Secretariats, GRRD of Disasters, installed in 14 departments of the country, one of its objectives is to strengthen the GRRD capacities of municipalities and communities. It also promotes the formation of Municipal DRRM Councils, which encourage community participation in the area, the formation of Emergency Operations Centers with citizen participation, and finally, training of communities through the DRRM Training and Education Department. The aim is to strengthen the capacity of communities to prepare for and respond to the impacts of a disaster or emergency situation, rehabilitation, early recovery and reconstruction is carried out through inter-institutional coordination.
